My computer is old. Should I upgrade?
Upgrading computer hardware is usually a
matter of necessity. The average life
cycle of a computer is three years, but
that doesn't mean that you don't need an
upgrade. Within those three years, it's
common to upgrade certain components
such as hard drives, memory (RAM), and
video cards. However, replacing
motherboards and processors (the heart
of the system) can be costly and not
needed if done regularly. A good reason
for upgrading is if your computer is
outside the normal life cycle or if your
system doesn't meet the minimum
requirements for a piece of
software/hardware.

My computer is really hot, what should I
do?
If you notice that your computer is hot
to the touch, it is likely that it is
either lacking proper ventilation or a
fan has failed. You should ensure that
the computer isn't confined in a small
or enclosed area and that the exhaust
vents in the case aren't being blocked.
There are usually two fans in a
computer: one on the processor and one
in the power supply. Both should be
spinning all the time. If you're unsure
how to check the fans, or if you think
they need to be replaced, please contact
Click I.T. for more information.
